1st Bodicote Scout Group.

News Letter No.66. October, 1963.

We were again fortunate in the weather for our fete on September 14th. The net financial result was a profit of £76. On behalf of the Group may I thank Mr. Kerrison and his Committee for all the work they put in to make this event run so smoothly. Also a vote of thanks to all the prize donors, the stall holders and all who sent gifts of all kind for the stalls. I feel that the work put in warranted a bigger public but we must be satisfied with a good profit and a happy social occasion.

It was especially pleasing to see the Rovers all together again and assisting wherever possible.
Since the fete all sections of the Group have got down to work again and I look forward to an increased keenness to gain proficiency all round.

CUBS. The Cubs welcome to the Pack the following new boys, and wish them every success in their Cubbing life.

SCOUTS: Since July four of Mr. Moore's boys have moved on. All four, Terry Bilveratone, Stephen Betts, Richard MacDonnell and Chris Horn were invested as Tenderfoots before leaving us and I have transferred them to Groups in their new districts and hope that there, they will continue on the Scouting Trail.
We have been pleased to welcome to our ranks Jimmie Morby and David Husband. The latter has transferred to us from Thornaby on Tees. We hope that they will enjoy to the ful1 a11 that Scouting can offer.
Mark Dodwell has gained his Sportsman Badge. The first I think to have been gained in this Group. Well done Mark.

HEAD QUARTERS. The time has come for us to re-paint the H. Q. Paint has been ordered and a start in washing down been made. It is a big job with our limited time but I hope all will help to get the job finished before the end of November. So far Sunday mornings have been set aside to do the work but if possible I would like to add one evening per week also. Offers of help from Parents would be greatly appreciated.

HOBBIES EXHIBITION. The Local Association had a very attractive stand and many people showed great interest. We hope that it has given the District a good boost.
